Things to Avoid (in no particular order)
- Cilantro
- Meat of all kinds (including seafood and poultry)
- Alcohol
- Carbonated drinks
- Large amounts of cheese. Most cheeses, really. I especially dislike
most melted cheese, although non-fancy pizza is usually fine. Fondue is
right-out :) A little bit of a simple cheese sprinkled on-top of pasta
won't ruin the dish for me, but something like feta in a salad
will. Cold, unmelted cheddar is tasty.
- Overly spicy (3 stars out of 5 is the most I can possibly eat, and
that is with considerable discomfort)
- Trans fats
- high-fructose corn syrup
- Creamy sauces
- Egg-focused dishes (e.g. fried egg on toast, egg salad. A little
bit of egg is fine.)
- Mayo
- Mustard
- Mushroom-focused dishes (e.g. portabello burger, sauted
mushrooms. A few mushrooms mixed in is fine.)
- chesnuts
Things that I enjoy (in no particular order)
- Pasta/noodles of all kinds
- Rice
- Cooked tomatoes
- Vegetable-based soups
- Potatoes
- Fruit
- Vegetables in general
- Breads (although not with too much stuff in them... although stuffed
naan is tasty!)
- Light curries
- Basil, oregeno
- GARLIC!
- Onions (cooked)
- Faux meat products (e.g. boca burger, fake ham, pretty much anything
TVP-based... I don't care as much for the mushroom-based ones like
Gardenburger)
- Tofu, if prepared
- Soy sauce (I prefer low-sodium)
- Samosas
- Lentils (mmm daal)
- Nuts
- Corn chowder
- Vegetarian "pad thai" (no fish sauce!)
Things that are okay in moderation
- butter
- salt
- spicey (peppers or whatever)
